Lock Poker’s new Revolution Gaming Network has become the largest network of online poker players still serving US customers, according to the latest figures from PokerScout, overtaking Lock’s old network Merge Gaming. e2h5b
It also marks the network’s entry into the top ten list of poker networks internationally, leapfrogging Microgaming to take ninth place. Ignoring segregated player pools in and Italy, Microgaming is in sixth place world-wide.
Lock Poker left the Merge Gaming Network in a surpise move which saw them buy the Cake Poker Network and rebrand the new group Revolution Gaming. Lock exists as a skin on the new network, which still includes Cake Poker, Intertops and dozens of other poker rooms.
The network went live at the beginning of June, and immediately the old Cake Network doubled in size. Because figures collected from the independent industry tracker PokerScout ranks players by a rolling seven-day average of peak cash game players, only now can it officially claim the #1 spot.
Networks will continue to jostle for position, as the new serious issues with the new Merge Gaming v6 client, we can expect the new Revolution to only solidify their position.
